Blooming on a budget

This pregnancy lark can be an expensive time. So how do we keep ourselves looking well and be able to have the right clothing that provides support when we have a limited budget? Well, help is at hand!product_102@2x

When buying maternity wear, go for a selection of tops and bottoms in colours that will work well together. You may have your heart set on that cute tunic top with the turquoise bows and sequins, but how well does it go with the rest of your wardrobe? If it doesn’t look great with most of your other clothes, how often will you wear it? You will be spending your cash on an item that will give little in the way of value, even if you did look great in it once. Mixing and matching is the way forward. Check out our range of stylish tops and bottoms that compliment each other and give you the chance of looking your best each day.

Belly bands can help save you a heap of money as they allow you to wear your normal, non-maternity clothes for longer. Belly bands cover that gap that appears at the top of your waistband as your tummy grows bigger, and give the illusion that a top is being worn underneath. You feel more confident, particularly if you are at that in-between stage of needing and not yet being big enough for maternity wear.

Underwear can be another expensive thing. Your breasts are expanding, there’s no way around it, so you have to buy a new bra or two. Your breasts may go up by several sizes during pregnancy, so it is pointless spending money on expensive maternity bras that you may grow out of in a few weeks. Our bras offer great support and versatility, without the hefty price tag.

Dressing well when you are on a budget is more than possible when you shop smart!

Relax… you’re pregnant!

Relaxing can often be a tricky business when you are pregnant. Your body is dealing with a huge change in your hormone levels and once it gets used to that, you have grown so big that you begin to feel more physically uncomfortable. This is very noticeable when it comes to being able to relax. For instance, acid reflux may prevent you from being comfortable as it tends to feel worse when you lay down. Getting enough sleep is essential to a healthy pregnancy. Here are some ideas to help you get the rest and relaxation you deserve! relax

  • Whatever stage of pregnancy you are at, pillows are your best friend. Use as many as needed to make yourself comfortable.
  • A soothing, milky drink before bed will encourage you to sleep, plus it can also help calm acid reflux.
  • Try using aromatherapy. A few drops of lavender or chamomile in a warm bath is thought to help with relaxation. Be cautious when using aromatherapy oils as some are not suitable to use when pregnant.
  • Make sure the room you sleep in is at a comfortable temperature. If you are too hot, too cold or if the room is too stuffy, it will be harder to fall asleep.
  • Learn some meditation and breathing techniques to help you relax.

Use these tip to help you relax as much as possible. After all, once baby arrives you will be kept very busy indeed!
